grading system- Grade 3
The students will be receiving a different set of letter grades this year. They will no longer receive E,VG,G,S,U on the report cards or assignments. After second grade, they receive A - U. See below for detailed descriptions. There is a chance the new (2015-16) report cards will have a completely different set of grades. They might be on a 1,2,3,4 scale instead of A,B,C,D. I'll let you know about this as soon as I can.
A+ (97 - 100) Demonstrates consistent understanding and application; applies concepts independently
A (93 - 97)
A- (90 - 93) Demonstrates consistent understanding and application; beginning to work independently
B+ (87 - 89) Demonstrates understanding and attempts to work independently
B (83 - 87) Demonstrates understanding and attempts to work independentlyB- (80 - 83) Demonstrates understanding and attempts to work independently
C+ (77 - 79) Demonstrates initial stages of development; needs guidance and reinforcement.
C (73 - 76) Demonstrates initial stages of development; needs guidance and reinforcement.
C- (70 - 72) Demonstrates initial stages of development; needs guidance and reinforcement.
D(65 - 69) Demonstrates limited progress; Experiencing difficulty. Needs more guidance and practice.
U (64 and below / failing) Unsatisfactory; Demonstrates minimal progress.
